Playlist: Prana Acoustic 12/18/12

This playlist is a tribute to my old teacher Bob Brookmeyer– I wrote about Bob yesterday here.  I’ve been playing as much of his stuff as I can get away with in class (big band jazz is not the music friendliest to yoga), so I mixed in influences (Bartok), former students (Maria Schneider), and music I personally associate with my time studying with him. (Maybe Baby)  And there are some holiday nuggets- if you’ve never heard the Ellington retake on the Nutcracker, you’re missing out!  It’s nice to be able to share this music from a man I love so dearly.
